Privacy Policy
Snow Mercy · Effective date: November 5, 2026
Snow Mercy (“the game”) is made by Maniot Ventures (Constantino Papadimitropoulos), Daytona Beach, Florida, USA (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the game on Google Play and on the web at snowmercy.maniotventures.com.
The short version
- Right now the web game sends nothing to our server. Leagues, saving progress to an account and purchases are switched off, so everything below about data sent to us applies only once those features are turned on. Until then your progress stays on your device.
- You can play without an account. The game makes a random game ID on your device; it isn’t your advertising ID or a hardware ID.
- The game sends gameplay stats and your league points to our server so leagues and leaderboards work and so we can balance the difficulty.
- Leaderboards show a nickname and a snowball avatar. The game picks a fun random nickname; you can change it.
- We ask for your email address only if you choose to save your progress or sign in. We use it to send you a sign-in code, nothing else.
- There are no ads and no advertising SDK in the game. We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising.
- If purchases are offered, payments are handled by Google Play or our payment processor. We never see your card details.
- To have your data deleted, email us the game ID shown in the game, or delete your account in the game if you signed in.
What the game sends us
When you’re online, the game sends the following to our server:
- Game ID
- A random code the game creates on your device the first time you play. It isn’t based on your phone’s hardware, your advertising ID or any account, and it contains nothing about you. It keeps your league place and leaderboard scores together and lets us find your data if you ask us to delete it.
- Gameplay stats
- Scores, rows cleared, how long a run lasted, your league tier and points, which mode you played (adventure, endless, daily challenge) and which level.
- Nickname and avatar
- The name and snowball avatar shown next to your score in leagues and on leaderboards. Other players can see them. The game starts you with a random fun name such as “Frosty Penguin”. If you change it, please don’t use your real full name.
- Friend codes
- If you add friends with their friend codes, we store which game IDs are friends so you can see each other’s scores.
- Game version, platform and language
- Which version of the game you have, whether you’re playing the Google Play app or in a web browser, and the language the game is set to.
- Country
- Our server reads which country the connection comes from (for example “US” or “GR”) and saves only the country. Your IP address is not saved.
Because these records share the same random game ID, some privacy laws (such as the EU and UK GDPR) treat them as pseudonymous data. We handle them that way, which is why you can ask us to delete them.
Only if you choose
- Email address (saving progress and signing in)
- If you tap “Save progress” or “Sign in to sync”, we ask for your email and send you a 6-digit code. We store the email with your account so you can get your progress back on another device. We don’t send newsletters or marketing, and there are no passwords. When sync is on, we also store a copy of your game progress (levels, stars, coins, boosters, trophies, settings) and a random ID for each device you sign in on.
- Purchases
- Some versions of the game may offer optional coin packs. If you buy one, Google Play (in the Android app) or our payment processor (on the web) handles the payment. We receive a record of what was bought and when, linked to your game ID or account, so we can deliver it and restore it. We never receive your card number. Nothing in the game requires a purchase.
- Sharing a score or replay
- Share cards and replay clips are made on your device. They leave it only when you share them, through the app you pick.
What stays on your device
Your progress, best scores, streaks, trophies, coins, settings and your game ID are saved in storage on your device. On Android, the Google Play version keeps them in your web browser’s storage for snowmercy.maniotventures.com. The game also stores its own files on your device so it can be played offline.
Clearing the game’s data, or your browser’s data for snowmercy.maniotventures.com, erases everything stored on the device, including your game ID. If you didn’t save your progress or sign in, it can’t be recovered.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your phone number, contacts, photos, precise or GPS location, advertising ID, device hardware identifiers (such as IMEI, serial number or MAC address), or payment card details. The game doesn’t ask for Android permissions to read these. It doesn’t use any third-party analytics or advertising SDK, and the web version loads no third-party scripts or fonts.
How we use the data
- To run leagues, leaderboards and friend codes.
- To save and restore your progress and purchases, if you signed in.
- To balance the difficulty of levels and the scores needed for each league.
- To find bugs, for example runs that end in a way they shouldn’t.
- To see which versions, platforms and languages are in use, and roughly which countries players are in.
- To stop cheating, for example impossible scores on leaderboards.
We don’t use the data for advertising, we don’t build marketing profiles, and we don’t try to identify anyone. Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis is providing the features you use (leagues, saved progress, purchases) and our legitimate interest in running and improving the game while collecting as little as possible.
Sharing
- We don’t sell or rent your data, and we don’t share it for advertising.
- Other players see your nickname, avatar, scores and league place. Nothing else about you is shown.
- The companies that handle data for us are our hosting and database provider, our email provider (to send sign-in codes), and the payment provider if you buy something. They process data on our behalf and follow our instructions.
- We would disclose data only if the law required it.
Playing on Android
The Google Play version of the game runs inside your web browser (usually Chrome) as a “Trusted Web Activity”. Your browser’s own privacy settings and policy cover the browser itself, and Google’s policies cover Google Play and purchases made through it. This policy covers only the data the game sends to us.
How long we keep data
- Gameplay stats and leaderboard entries: as long as they help us run and improve the game, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Account, email and synced progress: until you delete your account or ask us to.
- Purchase records: as long as the law requires us to keep sales records (often several years), even after other data is deleted.
Deleting your data
If you signed in: open the sign-in panel in the game and choose Delete account. This deletes your account, email and synced progress.
Otherwise, or if you can’t open the game:
- Find your game ID in the game’s settings and copy it (or note the email you used to save progress).
- Email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data” and paste in your game ID or that email.
- We’ll delete the data stored under it and reply to confirm, normally within 30 days.
If you clear the game’s data or reinstall without saving your progress, the game makes a new ID. Copy the old one first if you want its data deleted.
Security
The game talks to our server only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Only the developer can access the database, and we keep the data small on purpose.
Children
The game is meant for a general audience of teens and adults and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you’re a parent and believe your child gave us an email address, or you want the data from your child’s device deleted, email us and we’ll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or California, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or object to the use of data about you. Email [email protected] with your game ID or email and we’ll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where the data is processed
The data may be stored and processed in the United States or in other countries where our providers operate.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the game collects, for example by adding ads, we’ll update this page and its effective date before the change ships.
